Sometime less is more. If you don’t like a lot of makeup but you want to wear it for a special occasion, try doing a “no makeup” makeup look. The idea with this makeup trend is that there is definitely makeup on the skin, eyes, and lips. However, the shades are all neutral flesh tone shades without one feature popping more so than the other.
The first step to achieve this look is getting your skin to be its brightest and clearest by investing in a good skincare routine. This way you won’t need to wear a lot of foundation and/or concealer. If you aren’t sure where to start, book a facial with a licensed esthetician. They can make product recommendations while also giving you a thorough cleaning and exfoliation. I recommend all my Virginia Beach makeup clients to Emily Anne Esthetics.

Next, find a light weight foundation that will fit your skin type. If you are oily look for a water based foundation like a tinted moisturizer and if you are dry try one with more moisture. I’ve been using the new RMS Un-Cover Up Cream Foundation to help with my dry winter skin.
A soft contour will enhance your bone structure and ensure you don’t look washed out. For this, I recommend using Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder with an angled brush to hug the contours of the face. This bronzer comes in different intensity levels.

Next chose an eye color that closely resembles your skin tone but has a slight sheen so that it will catch the light and draw attention to your eyes.
Keep the rest of the look monochromatic by using a lip and blush shade that match each other. A good makeup tip to find the best shade of nude for your skin tone, is to get a shade that resembles the hue of your inner lip.
