I recently had an amazing opportunity to do a segment on Virginia Beach‘s WTKR Costal Live on tips for creating a smokey eye. It was such a fun experience that I thought I’d not only share the clip, but also share what makeup I chose to wear for my big close up!
HD cameras can pick up a lot of texture so I wanted to make sure my skin looked flawless and smooth for my TV appearance. I wore Hourglass Vanish Stick Foundation and applied it with their Vanish foundation brush for full coverage. I topped that off with the super fine By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder and some contour. I did a light smokey eye using NARS Dual-Intensity Shadow in Himalia and wore my signature red lip.
A smokey eye is a great makeup look for prom, galas, black tie events or just a night out. The key is a good blend of shadows so start with your darkest shades first. This way you can use your lightest shadows to blend the whole things together. Also, start with your eyes first, this way you can wipe away any fall out of shadow that may land on the face.
