As the Summer heats up, so does the amount of outdoor activity you will probably want to enjoy. As a makeup artist in Virginia Beach this can prove problematic since the humidity is pretty intense here, and sweat and makeup don’t really mix together. Hourglass claims their Mineral Primer paired with the Vanish Stick Foundation and their Ambient Lighting Powders make for waterproof and sweat proof makeup. But my philosophy is Summer is great time to go with a “less is more” policy.
If you have normal to oily skin try opting for a concealer like Laura Mercier’s Secret Camouflage, applying it only areas where you need it the most. Then dust a light powder all over the face. Supergoop’s Mineral Powder with SPF makes it super easy to touch up your makeup and sunscreen in one super swoop. If your skin is a bit dry, try NARS Radiant Tinted Moisturizer for medium coverage with sunscreen.
For eyes and lips keep it simple. Pair a bold matte lip in a fun Summer shade like Bobbi Brown’s Crushed Lip Sticks in Watermelon or Punch with tons of waterproof mascara. If you’d like to focus more on your eyes, try layering a few long wearing cream shadow sticks. Almost every brand makes shadow sticks but I favor By Terry’s OMBRE BLACKSTAR shades.
Lastly it’s very important to breakdown makeup and sunscreen every night to ensure beautiful clear skin!
