The 2020 Pantone Color of the Year is Classic Blue! Surrounded by the beautiful blue skies and ocean in Virginia Beach, makeup inspiration is everywhere! But generally blue is an under used color in beauty.
The easiest way to wear this trendy hue is on your eyes. Adding a touch of a bold color like a classic blue to a neutral base is easier and more elegant than wearing it all over. Here are three ideas on how to pull off a blue eye makeup look.

Eyeliner
Adding a pop of blue eyeliner is not only a simple way of wearing the trend but the blue will make the whites of your eyes look whiter and brighter.
A sophisticated navy liner winged out on your upper lids (like this one above) is very appropriate for a professional work environment. Pair it with a pale flesh tone shade of shadow (or no shadow at all) to give a contrast to your deep liner.

A more cerulean blue like this Nars High Pigment Longwear eyeliner in Ocean Drive awakens the eye when placed in the lower water line. The shade pairs well with more bronzed eyeshadow tones.
SMOKEY EYE
Ditch the classic grey and black Smokey eye for a grey and blue one. This sultry evening makeup look is a bit more modern and softer when you use a deep blue liner and shadow in the out corner of the eyes.

STATEMENT EYE
If you are a trendsetter who wants to channel your inner vintage Barbie try using different blue shades together for a vivid eye like this one. For this look I applied NARS Baby Jane, a powder blue shadow, all over the center of the eyelid with a fluffy brush for a soft application. With a denser and smaller brush I place NARS Outremer in the crease to create shape and definition in the crease. I layered that with the even deeper China Blue shadow. The result is a balanced statement eye.
I hope you’ll be inspired to try this blue eye makeup trend.
